Wilshire Ebell Theatre in Los Angeles, California

This work was commissioned by the English National Opera
with the help of funds provided by the RVW Trust and the
Arts Council of Great Britain.

The first performance of Anna Karenina was given by the
English National Opera on May 7, 1981 at the London Coliseum
